Inventory 2009

In past years, we have closed for our annual inventory - this year, we are going to keep the business open during that time.

From 1/18 to 1/22 we will be taking inventory. During that time, you may experience delays in order processing time. In addition, we will not have customer service staff available to answer incoming calls or for live chat. We will respond to email requests, however the response time will be slower than normal.

We thought this would be better than closing the business during that time, and hope you understand the importance of this process to improve our inventory accuracy after the busy holiday season.

Happy New Year!

CCG Armory has had a great year with significant growth despite the rough economy - this holiday season was busier than expected and was very hectic. We look forward to everything settling down in January.

I wanted to share with everyone a few of the plans for the new year.

Product Selection

We will continue to expand our product line, with a focus on adding more miniature games (including historical miniatures), more terrain lines, rapidly expanding our comic book section, and expanding board games to have one of the biggest board game selections on the internet.

At the same time, we will continue to support our current lines by carrying every available CCG and CMG product and expanding our toy and collectable selections. For CCG and CMG singles, we will focus on providing stronger support for a smaller number of games rather than trying to carry singles for all games - your input will help us determine which games we should carry.

Shipping News

The sad news is that UPS has raised prices by 6% effective 1/1, and the post office will follow suit on 1/18. We had hoped that falling gas prices would result in a smaller increase this year, but bad economic conditions has forced both providers to raise prices. The result is that packages will be a bit more expensive to ship this year. We suggest that our customers leverage the many different shipping options that we provide, here is a quick primer:

UPS ground - Best for heavier packages (over 4 lbs) - faster than priority mail for east coast customers, but slower for west coast customers. Better tracking

Priority mail - Best for lighter packages (under 4 lbs) - usually quick but not as reliable on delivery times - faster than UPS for west coast customers.

Media Mail - Only useable for books, comics, and other "media" - a cheap option that usually takes about one week to arrive.

Parcel Post - Best for heavier packages as an alternative to priority mail - with the recent price increases of priority, we expect to see this option become more popular.

Customer Service

Providing quality customer service has been a critical goal - but has been challenging as we have grown. There will be a renewed focus on faster and better service in 2009. We have plans to expand hours that we answer live chat and phone calls live, and get our email responsiveness back to desired levels.
